5 Best Keto Instant Pot Recipes

Find the top 5 ketogenic Instant Pot recipes. They are low-carb and you can make them easily and enjoy a healthy meal and burn excess fat in your body.

What is a keto diet?

The keto diet (aka Ketogenic diet)  is a low-carb eating lifestyle that eliminates unhealthy fats and carbohydrates. Consequently, you substitute with loads of sugar-free protein and vegetable foods that feeds the body with low carbs and pushes it into a ketosis state.

Hence, the body looks for alternative energy sources — since carbs are our main driving power — from stored fat.

When you master the keto diet, you’re a few steps closer to improving your general wellbeing. Other than aiding with weight loss, a keto diet plan will:

  • Lower your sugar intake, limiting the occurrence of illnesses such as diabetes.
  • Limit the consumption of excess fat to reduce bad cholesterol that causes heart disease.
  • Improve your digestion and brainpower. Your body uses less effort to process the keto low-carb food options, and you don’t get that ‘food coma’ feeling each time you eat.

So, how do you make sure you’re always on track? I love and highly recommend cooking your low-carb keto meals in the Instant Pot.

My favorite keto-friendly reasons for using an Instant Pot are:

  • An Instant Pot uses less cooking oil. The Instant Pot works like a pressure cooker and uses steam to cook your food. So, deep frying is off the equation and that means less unhealthy fat in your foods.
  • Saves time. The instant pot will pressure cook your food so quickly, you don’t have to reach out for those unhealthy quick-fix cravings. And most keto recipes I’ll share today have little prep time.
  • Instant Pot recipes are so versatile. You can fry, sauté, steam, and sterilize. You can make almost anything ranging from chicken tikka masala to yogurt, oatmeal, pies, and even cakes!

The Instant Pot is a pressure cooker and a slow cooker, so it gives you the option both for quick fixes and slow cooking.

Here are five excellent Instant Pot keto recipes you gotta try this week. You can switch up the meals for breakfast, lunch, dinner, or snacks to your liking!

1. Instant Pot London Broil

What’s your plan for weeknight dinners? How about you give our most popular beef recipe a try.

I know what you’re thinking. Cooking beef in an Instant Pot?

Well, my secret to getting the meat just as tasty as that made on the broiler is to marinate and sear it properly. That way, the meat soaks up all the juiciness.

To do that, combine these marinade ingredients in a large bowl:

  • ½ cup of water
  • ¼ cup of red wine vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon of tomato paste
  • 1½ teaspoon of thyme
  • 1 teaspoon of garlic salt

The power ingredients here are vinegar and tomato paste — the vinegar’s acidity softens the beef while the tomato paste thickens the sauce. That makes this keto dinner’s protein tender, colorful, and juicy.

Marinate the beef for at least 3 hours in the fridge. But the longer the better, so if you can, leave it overnight.

Note: The marinade is not just for the pre-soak.

Add the mixture to the Instant Pot to pressure cook with the beef. Just remember to top up with the broth of your choice to bring the liquid total to 1½ cups — the amount of liquid required to cook the beef for 20 minutes on high pressure.

“Just made this. Oh my goodness its delicious. I didn’t have stout beer so I used beef broth. Will definitely recommend this to my friends and make it again and agsin. — Doreen Northrup

You and your dinner guests are sure to enjoy the bursting flavor in every bite. And they’ll be surprised to know it’s an Instant Pot beef recipe.

2. Instant Pot Turkey Chili

The turkey chili recipe is perfect for a cold winter day. The Instant Pot will prepare you a bowl of steaming hot chili in just 35 minutes. It’s the ultimate guilt-free comfort food!

This is one of those nutritious keto instant pot recipes that’s so filling. And you know what that means…

When you’re fuller for longer, the body has little to no sugar cravings.

This Instant Pot dish provides you with enough calories from the beans, turkey/chicken, and your choice of low carbs. It reduces sugar cravings with every bite.

This famous Mexican dish is spicy, and I suggest adding jalapeno seeds in there to give it an extra kick. But if you’re sharing the meal with kids, you can omit the jalapeno from the recipe.

What’s the best part?

The protein options are limitless. For the meat, use shredded chicken or turkey. And as for the beans, go with what you got and like. Common substitutes include black beans, pinto beans, or cannellini beans.

This Instant Pot bowl recipe pairs well with brown rice or spaghetti squash. Both of these are excellent and easy low-carb keto favorites. Simply boil the rice or bake the spaghetti squash in the oven.

This is one of the quickest Italian sausage Instant Pot keto recipes.

For this low-carb keto recipe, you use either Kielbasa, Italian, or any other raw sausage.

For a long time, I’ve tried and tested many beer brat recipes in the Instant Pot. Often they came out undercooked or overcooked...

I know what you’re thinking. It’s best to cook brats on the grill or cook it the same way we make Blackstone Chicken Recipes.

But wait.

I’ve found the cooking time sweet spot!

The time the sausage takes to cook in a pressure cooker depends on their thickness. However, the inner temperature should be 160°F so that your meat cooks all the way through.

And if the brats come out pink at the center, return them to the Instant Pot and cook for another minute.

Cooking The time it takes when cooking on High Pressure
Kielbasa sausages 15 minutes
Frozen brats 7 minutes
Frozen bratwurst 7 minutes
Room temperature brats 6 minutes

Pro Tip: When cooking on Pressure Cooker mode, place the brats on the trivet that came with your Instant Pot to get a delicious and juicy sausage.

The result is scrumptious, beery, buttery brats with no wrinkly skin.

This Instant Pot recipe helps to keep the rich flavor such that you can easily enjoy them alone as an appetizer. But you can always pair them with another dish for breakfast, lunch, or dinner.

To enjoy, combine these meaty low-carb keto sausages with either a dish of boiled potatoes, mac ‘n’ cheese, sauerkraut, boiled broccoli, or mustard.

Or, you can decide to make a palatable sausage sandwich by serving them in a hot dog bun or with plain bread.

Here’s some good news for my vegetarians or vegans. To make this recipe suit you, use your favorite vegetarian or vegan sausage. Then add onions and peppers for extra flavor and cook with oil and vegetable stock.

If you want an alternative for beer, use a different broth of your choice: vegetable, beef, pork, water, or even apple juice.

Lastly, if you’re serving a large number, you can double or triple the quantities in my original recipe. But the cooking time stays the same — all you need to add is more butter and beer.

Here are the exact measurements:

# of Brats Cook with...
4 Bratwursts 2 tablespoon of butter

1 cup of beer

8 Bratwursts 4 tablespoon of butter

2 cups of beer

12 Bratwursts 6 tablespoon of butter

4 cups of beer

On a dull or bad day, this comforting Taco Soup recipe will bring you a whole lot of warmth.

It’s so easy to make and you’ll fall in love with the flavor and the richness of the soup.

And you can switch up the low-carb protein option each time you cook it. You can use either red beans, garbanzo beans, black beans, brown beans, or any other kind you have. For the main protein, try regular pork or spicy pork sausage.

If it’s too hot, pour some sour cream on top when serving.

On the side, some bread will do. But if you want to keep the carbs out like me, the soup itself is enough.

Also, sneak in some fruits and vegetables of your choice to up the nutrition value and enjoy!

“This was super! (Or should I say souper?) Couldn’t resist adding a clove of crushed garlic and a chopped red capsicum. Served with a side of tortilla chips + chopped avocado with a drop of olive oil and a few drops of lemon. Thanks for the recipe — just the thing for one of those colder nights!”
