Yes. If you are using frozen beans, add 1 minute to the cooking time.

We prefer to use fresh ones because they're the best in terms of flavor.

In any case, you can use frozen ones to avoid the boring cleaning process.

Which kind of potatoes to use?

For this Instant Pot Green Beans and Potatoes recipe you can go ahead with baking, Idaho, russet, new, or red potatoes.

Just make sure to cut the potatoes into 1-inch cubes before cooking.

Add chopped bacon, minced garlic, and sliced onions and saute for 3 minutes.

  • ½ onion sliced
  • 4 garlic cloves minced
  • lb sliced bacon chopped
  • 1 ½ lb green beans
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • 1 ½ lb baby potatoes


  • Press "saute".
  • Add onions, bacon, and garlic and saute for 3 minutes.
  • Add chicken broth, salt and black pepper and stir well.
  • Add green beans, and baby potatoes and close the lid.
  • Cook on high pressure for 5 minutes.
  • When cooking time is complete, do a quick pressure release.
