Can I use frozen green beans?
Yes. If you are using frozen beans, add 1 minute to the cooking time.
We prefer to use fresh ones because they're the best in terms of flavor.
In any case, you can use frozen ones to avoid the boring cleaning process.
Which kind of potatoes to use?
For this Instant Pot Green Beans and Potatoes recipe you can go ahead with baking, Idaho, russet, new, or red potatoes.
Just make sure to cut the potatoes into 1-inch cubes before cooking.
Do I have to peel the Potatoes?
Peeling the potatoes is optional for this recipe.
The little bits of red skin on the potatoes look visually appealing, also potato skins are filled with nutrients like fiber and B vitamins.
What type of bacon to use?
You’re welcome to use whatever your favorite type of bacon is.
We prefer cooking with traditional pork bacon.
If you try an alternative like turkey bacon please leave us a comment below letting us know how it turned out!
Can I use other vegetables?
Of course, if you want to diversify you can add your favorite ones as well.
How to serve?
The beauty of this recipe is that it can be served with almost anything!
How can I make this recipe vegetarian?
To make it a vegan dish, skip the bacon & replace the chicken broth with any vegetable broth.
What else can I add to my recipe?
If you’re not avoiding ingredients like butter and ham, I'd recommend adding it for extra flavor.
Because who doesn’t love butter and ham?
I use about 4 tablespoons of salted butter and place the 4 pieces on top of the green beans.
