Instant Pot Salsa Chicken Serenade
Instant Pots call for no less than 2 cups of liquid in order for them to function correctly. I'm confused as to why there is only 1 cup (1/2 cup of salsa + 1/2 cup of broth) of liquid? I do want to make this. It sounds good & is very easy. Thank you Corrie~
How long of a natural release?
At least 20 minutes.
Would the cook time be longer if using more boneless skinles chicken thighs
No, 15 minutes should work great for chicken thighs too.
Can you double recipe?
Yes, absolutely.
When using boneless/skinless chicken breasts , is the chicken supposed be put in the instapot frozen or should it be defrosted ? Thanks
It can be cooked straight from frozen or defrosted first, both work great!
Fresh or Frozen? The picture shows fresh, the ingredients list says frozen...what is the right time for both ways?
You can use either fresh or frozen. The time listed (15 minutes) is for frozen chicken breasts. If you use fresh, the chicken should be cooked through in just 10 minutes with a natural release.
I’m looking forward to making this. Thanks for the recipe.
Could you add rice right to the recipe?
No, the rice would absorb too much of the liquid and might result in a burn message. It is best to serve it on the side.
Just something to add. I made your Taco Sasoning recipe and looked it up. 2 teaspoons equal 1 prepared package.
Useful info! Thank you Pat :]
Which is it? Natural release or quick? Your recipe states both in different areas.
I'm using natural pressure release. I just fixed it - Thanks for mentioning.
