  1. 5 stars
In Britain, a can of tomatoes in a recipe would be assumed as 400g ( close to 14oz). We don't buy huge sizes like in the US

  2. Hi. The recipe is missing some details. What size of can of tomatoes? 28 oz? 15 oz? What type of canned tomatoes? Whole? Plumb? Stewed? Diced? Pureed? I really like your recipes but sometimes you omit key details, like the number of ounces of an ingredient or the size of a box. Your lasagna recipe calls for one box of noodles, but doesn't say what size. Thanks!

    1. Sorry about that, sometimes I work quickly to get recipes up and this happens. Especially with a recipe like tomato sauce, it's very flexible, so I like to advise people to use what they have on hand. It also depends on the desired texture of the sauce. This is more a large can of tomatoes (28 oz) and I like to use crushed or whole peeled tomatoes, but you can also use diced or even puree. If you like a smoother sauce, you can blend it at the end. Hope that is helpful!

  3. "Add canned tomatoes, spinach, bay leaves, red wine, water, oregano, basil, salt and pepper and stir well." - you want us to add spinach to the tomato sauce?
