Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 tsp olive oil
  • 1/2 cup onion chopped
  • 2 garlic cloves minced
  • 1 tbsp tomato paste
  • 1/4 cup red wine
  • 1 can tomatoes
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • 1 tsp dried basil
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp pepper
  • 1 cup water

Instructions

  1. Turn on the instant pot and select sauté.

  2. Add oil, onions and sauté for 3 minutes.

  3. Add garlic and tomato paste and sauté until tomato paste changes to orange.

  4. Deglaze it with red wine.

  5. Add tomatoes, seasoning, water, spices and cook for 5 minutes.

  6. Close the lid of the instant pot.

  7. Set instant pot to Manual at high pressure and cook for 8 minutes. Release the pressure quickly through steam vent.

  8. Open the lid of the instant pot.

  9. You can use this sauce immediately, refrigerate or even freeze it.
