Recipe Ingredients
Whole Milk - I've used whole milk in making greek yogurt because of the number of fats it contains giving yogurt the desired thickness. You can use any other milk of your choice too.
Plain Yogurt - Use any kind of your favorite store-bought Yogurt. We would just need it in a small amount for thickening purposes and to give the milk a yogurt taste. Using high-fat yogurt would result in a good thick and rich greek yogurt.
How to make Greek Yogurt
Gather all the necessary ingredients first.
Now take an instant pot and add 1 and ½ cups of milk to it.
Lock the lid and select the 'yogurt' mode. Set the timer for 8 minutes.
After 8 minutes, give it a natural steam vent.
Then add ½ cup of any store-bought plain yogurt to it.
Stir it with the help of a wooden spoon then cover the lid. Select the 'yogurt' function and set a timer for 8 minutes again.
Once done, give it a natural steam vent.
The creamy and wholesome Greek yogurt is ready to be served!
How To Serve
Greek yogurt serves as a delicious snack to everyone! The simple and healthier way to have it is to just sprinkle chopped nuts, strawberries or granola on top and have it in your breakfast for the energetic start of the day. Greek yogurt with granola in the morning makes the best breakfast combo too!
Greek Yogurt also serves as a yummy side dip with roasted meat and chicken or with chicken meatballs. And my favorite way to use it is drizzling it over desserts and ice creams or whipping it up with smoothies.
Pairing Greek yogurt with apple slices makes it sweet also honey goes bombastic with it! Your young one's gonna love this delightful combination for sure.
FAQ About Greek Yogurt
How Long Does The Greek Yogurt Lasts?
It can last up to one month if stored in a freezer packed in an airtight container and for up to 2 weeks in the refrigerator but if you keep it at room temperature then you have to discard it after 2 hours because the longer it will sit out the more acidic and rancid it will get.
What should I do to make my yogurt thicker and creamier?
This recipe would result in a good creamy yogurt if you use ingredients as described above. If you want it to be thicker and creamier then boil the milk for a bit longer, let's say 11 minutes instead of 8.
Then wait for a natural release, add yogurt and continue as usual.
Can I double the recipe?
Yes. Use 3 cups of milk and 1 cup of plain yogurt.
Cooking time stays the same (8 minutes and natural release and then another 8 minutes and natural release).
Can I make it vegan?
