What can I use instead of Steel Cut Oats?
You can use Rolled Oats as well as both rolled oats and steel-cut oats are high in protein, fiber, and nutrients and are a healthy choice.
Steel-cut oats are better than rolled oats.. It's just that it takes a longer time to cook them.
That’s where the Instant Pot comes in!
What else I can add to my recipe?
Use soy milk, almond milk or any nut milk instead of water.
The oats will be a bit watery when you remove the lid from the pot, but they will continue to thicken over time, so don't worry.
How much water to use?
For this recipe I used 4.5 cups of water.
Use 4 cups of water if you want thick mixture and 5 cups of water if you want thin mixture.
Can I re-heat the recipe?
Steel-cut oatmeal also reheats beautifully, meaning you can make a big batch, then enjoy healthy leftovers all week long.
What can I add for toppings?
Once your oats are cooked, you can customize your bowl with anything you desire.
Drizzle honey
Fresh fruits
Dried Fruit
Chocolate chips
How to make
Gather the two magical ingredients.
Add your oats into the instant pot.
Add in some water.
Mix the oats well and set the pot to High Pressure for 4 minutes.
Do a Natural Release afterward.
Dish out & enjoy 🙂

Steel Cut Oats aren't just for breakfast any more. I use your basic recipe and I add garlic, green onions and lots of fresh jalapeños. Colman's dried mustard and turmeric are very tasty as well.
Wow, that sounds great! I'll have to try.
