What else can I add?
Instant Pot Char Siu is typically blood-red in color because of food coloring.
Otherwise, red fermented bean curd is well enough for the color.
I personally prefer to skip the food color.
You can use beet juice instead.
How to make Instant Pot Char Siu?
Gather the necessary ingredients.
Take a bowl and mix in the ingredients except for the Shaoxing wine and salt.
Marinate the pork meat with the prepared sauce mixture.
Pour the left mixture into the Instant Pot.
Place a trivet inside the Instant Pot and place the pork meat on it.
Season the pork with salt to taste and pour Shaoxing wine onto it.
Close the lid and cook on high pressure for 18 minutes.
Do a quick release afterward.
Dish out and serve with chopped green onions.

Ingredients
- 1 lb pork meat
- 3 tablespoon honey
- 2 tablespoon soy sauce
- salt to taste
- 1 tablespoon chuhou paste
- 2 cubes red bean curd
- 3 tablespoon char siu sauce
- ½ teaspoon sesame oil
- 2 tablespoon Shaoxing wine
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 2 tablespoon soy sauce
Instructions
- Mix all the ingredients except salt and wine in a bowl.
- Marinate the pork meat with the prepared mixture.
- Pour the left mixture into the Instant Pot.
- Place a trivet inside the Instant Pot.
- Place the pork meat on the trivet.
- Season the pork with salt to taste and pour Shaoxing wine onto it.
- Close the lid and cook on high pressure for 18 minutes.
- Do a quick release afterward.
- Dish out and serve with chopped green onions.
