What can I do with Chickpeas?
How to cook chickpeas in Instant Pot?
This is quite an easy method. As mentioned, you will just cover the chickpeas with water, add a pinch of salt and cook in the Instant Pot. The cooking time usually takes 50 minutes.
Still, if you want to cut down on the cooking time, you can soak your chickpeas overnight. In that case, the cooking time will take around 12 minutes.
Do I need to soak the chickpeas overnight?
No. For this Instant Pot chickpeas recipe you don't need to soak the chickpeas.
Many people believe that soaking dry beans can remove some of the indigestible sugars. As believe these sugars cause bloating and stomach discomfort.
I have made both versions, and believe me I have not spotted any difference.
Can I quickly soak the chickpeas?
Of course, you can. Place the 1 cup of chickpeas in an Instant pot, and cover with three cups of water. Cook on the high pressure for 2 minutes, and release pressure naturally. Rinse the chickpeas and cook for another 12 minutes, in clean water, and at high pressure.
