Mac and Cheese Pizza

Mac and Cheese pizza

When you're stuck trying to decide between pizza or mac and cheese for dinner, try this simple mac and cheese pizza recipe, and you won't have to choose 🙂

Why This Recipe Works

This recipe is a favorite of mine because it combines two of my favorite comfort foods pizza and mac and cheese. Plus, it's incredibly versatile, so you can add or substitute ingredients to suit your tastes.

Ingredients

Mac and Cheese:

You can choose to use the simple mac and cheese recipe listed, or if you have a tried and true mac and cheese recipe that you have perfected, you can use that on your mac and cheese pizza instead.

If you do follow the recipe provided, you can make any substitutions or additions you want. Use a bit of paprika to give your mac and cheese a bit of kick, or substitute the mozzarella cheese for a smoked gouda. This is a great recipe for you to get creative and have fun!

Pizza Dough:

If you have a pizza dough recipe that you use, you can make your own. However, if you don't want to make your dough from scratch, frozen pizza dough or a premade crust will work just as well with this mac and cheese pizza recipe.

Toppings:

Anything that you could add to mac and cheese would serve as an excellent topping for your pizza. I love to add bacon crumbles, broccoli, or sometimes even lobster to mine.

Tips

  • You can add toppings to your mac and cheese pizza, like bacon, shrimp, broccoli, or even lobster. Be careful not to overload your pizza with toppings, though, or it won't cook through and may require additional cook time.

What to Serve With Mac and Cheese Pizza

While mac and cheese pizza is a deliciously satisfying dish on its own, it can be made even better by pairing it with a complementary side like smoked lasagna or chicken wings.

If you want something a little lighter, crispy green beans or a quinoa salad might give you added nutrients you're looking for. Maybe a hearty salad with some tasty Southwest salad dressing.

FAQs

How long can mac and cheese pizza leftovers be stored?

Mac and cheese pizza leftovers can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3-4 days. To ensure the best quality and taste, wrap the leftover pizza tightly in aluminum foil or store it in an airtight container.

It is not recommended to store leftover pizza in the freezer, as the cheese and crust can become tough and lose their texture when reheated.

What is the best way to reheat mac and cheese pizza leftovers?

When you are ready to reheat the pizza, place it in a preheated oven at 350°F (175°C) for about 10-15 minutes or until the cheese is melted and the crust is crispy.

Is this recipe gluten-free? Vegan?

While this recipe is neither gluten-free nor vegan, it can easily be made gluten-free and vegan. Simply substitute the mac and cheese and the crust with your favorite gluten-free or vegan alternative.
