Ingredients

  • 6 lb short ribs
  • salt to taste
  • 2 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 onion sliced
  • ½ cup bourbon
  • 1 tablespoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 3 tablespoon sugar
  • 3 tablespoon balsamic vinegar
  • 6 garlic cloves
  • thyme
  • 1 cup beef stock
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1 tablespoon water

Instructions

  • Wash the ribs, dry them and season with salt on both sides.
  • Press "saute" and add olive oil.
  • Add short ribs and saute on both sides until brown.
  • Take out the ribs and place aside.
  • Add onions, garlic cloves, and bourbon in the pot and mix well.
  • Add in cayenne pepper, paprika, balsamic vinegar, sugar and stir well.
  • Place short ribs and add thyme, garlic, a pinch of salt on top.
  • Add the stock and close the lid of the instant pot.
  • Cook on high pressure for 45 minutes.
  • When cooking time is complete, wait for a natural pressure release.
  • Take out the ribs and Press "saute".
  • In a small bowl and mix cornstarch with water and add it in the broth.
  • Mix well and let broth simmer till it’s a bit thick.
  • Serve and enjoy 🙂

  1. This was absolutely delicious!!! The ribs were so tender and tasty!!! I doubled the gravy ingredients so we could put gobs on the mashed potatoes, and it was fabulous!!! Great recipe!!!
