Why This Recipe Works
This Instant Pot Kalua Pork recipe brings the authentic flavors of Hawaiian cuisine to your table with a fraction of the effort and time. Traditionally, Kalua pork is slow-cooked in an underground oven, but the Instant Pot mimics the tender, juicy texture in just 60 minutes of cooking time.
The pork shoulder’s natural marbling ensures moist, flavorful meat, while the addition of liquid smoke replicates the signature smoky aroma of a luau feast. A simple seasoning of Hawaiian sea salt allows the pork's natural flavors to shine, making this dish both easy to prepare and rich in taste.
