Recipe Ingredients

ingredients needed to make Instant Pot Creamed Corn

Corn - Fresh corn or frozen corn that is thawed works best. Canned corn can work too, just be sure to drain off the liquids.

Heavy cream - Adding this helps to add richness to the corn.

Butter - You can use salted or unsalted butter. If you do use salt, I would omit adding any more salt.

Sugar - Just a little bit of sugar adds a good sweetness.

Salt - Just a little bit for flavor.

Pepper - Just a little bit for flavor.

Chili powder - This can be optional but is a great way to add some heat.

Cream cheese - You'll use a whole block of cream cheese for this recipe, and it adds the perfect texture.

How to make Instant Pot Creamed Corn

This simple corn recipe is so fast and easy! You're about to find out why it's one of my favorite dishes to make!

Step One: Add all the ingredients to the Instant Pot.

Step Two: Put on the Instant Pot lid. Cook at high pressure for 3 minutes.

Step Three: Once the time has passed, do a quick release and remove the lid. Stir well.

Serve and enjoy 🙂

Variations

Add other vegetables - Who says that you can't add other vegetables to this dish? You can easily add in mushrooms, onions, and even diced peppers.

Recipe Notes

  • You will have to stir the mixture for several minutes once you take off the lid. This is to melt the butter and the cream cheese completely. You don't want any chunks in there!
  • Make sure that you're stirring with a wooden spoon so that you don't scratch the inner pan of your Instant Pot.

How to Serve

The great thing about creamed corn is that it can be served as is or paired up with just about any dish. Some of my favorites are Instant Pot Chicken and Mushrooms or even Instant Pot Tender Pork Tenderloin as well.

I say to make it up often and change out what you serve it with. That's the best way to see what you like and what you don't care for and then move forward from there.

Recipe FAQs

What can substitute heavy cream?

If you don't want to use heavy cream, you can use Greek yogurt instead. This is another way to add protein to the dish!

Is Cream Style Corn the same as creamed corn?

Yes, they are the same. Everyone makes their own cream-style corn a little differently, but this is what works best for me!

Can I freeze creamed corn?

Yes, it can be added to the freezer. This is a great way to cook a delicious dish and save the leftovers for later.

Just make sure to let it cool all the way before adding it to a freezer-safe bag. You can actually spread out the mixture in the bag, so it lays flat in the freezer. (this is a great tip to save space!)
