Ingredients

Gram flour (Besan) - A common ingredient in Indian cuisine, gives SoanPapdi its unique texture; substitute with chickpea flour if unavailable.

All-purpose flour (Maida) -Adds structure and lightness; substitute with whole wheat flour for a healthier option.

Sugar - Provides sweetness; can be replaced with jaggery for a more traditional taste.

Ghee - Enhances flavor and texture; substitute with unsalted butter or coconut oil for a vegan option.

Cardamom powder - Imparts a warm, aromatic flavor; substitute with cinnamon or nutmeg if desired.

  • Sift flours together for a smoother mixture.
  • Use a heavy-bottomed pan to prevent burning.
