Why This Recipe Works

This recipe stands out because it combines a variety of flavors and textures that complement each other perfectly. Ingredients

Jumbo pasta shells - large shells perfect for stuffing, can substitute with manicotti tubes or cannelloni

Ground meat - we suggest beef, but you can use turkey, chicken, or a vegetarian substitute like lentils or plant-based ground meat

Ricotta cheese - creamy and mild, can substitute with cottage cheese or tofu for a dairy-free option

Mozzarella cheese - for gooey, melty goodness, can substitute with a dairy-free alternative

Marinara sauce - the base for the dish, can use store-bought or homemade

Tips

  • Cook pasta shells just until al dente to prevent overcooking when baking.
  • Use a piping bag or a ziplock with the corner cut off to fill shells easily.
  • Customize the filling with your favorite herbs and spices.
  • Make ahead and freeze before baking for a quick meal in the future.
  • Use a deep baking dish to hold the shells snugly and ensure even cooking.
