Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground elk meat
  • ½ teaspoon minced garlic
  • ½ chopped onion
  • 5 tablespoon unsalted butter
  • ¼ cup bread crumbs
  • ½ teaspoon Allspice
  • 1 egg
  • ½ tablespoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 2 tablespoon flour
  • cup beef broth
  • ½ cup sour cream
  • ½ teaspoon dijon mustard
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • Mashed potatoes/egg noodles for serving

Instructions

  • Take a skillet and melt one tablespoon of butter in it. Once melted, add onions and garlic to sautee.
  • Take a large bowl and mix ground elk, bread crumbs, garlic, onions, egg, salt, pepper and Allspice. Use hands to mix everything.
  • Make meatballs with the meat mixture and cook them in melted butter and olive oil. Place the meatballs aside when cooked.
  • Now whisk flour in the melting unsalted butter. Also, pour in broth and whisk continually.
  • Add Worcestershire sauce, sour cream and mustard and cook the sauce.
  • Put all the cooked meatballs back and mix
  • Serve the meatballs over mashed potatoes or egg noodles.
