Ingredients

Tortillas - Corn or flour both work; use corn for more texture, flour for softness. Substitute: Pita bread or flatbreads

Cooked Beef - This could be from leftover roast or steaks. Substitute: Chicken, pork, or meat alternatives like tofu

Cheese - Cheddar, mozzarella, or Mexican blend are all good. Substitute: Vegan cheese or nutritional yeast for a dairy-free option

Bell Peppers - Adds color and a sweet crunch. Substitute: Onions or tomatoes

Cooking Oil - For frying the quesadillas. Olive oil or vegetable oil will do. Substitute: Butter or cooking spray

Tips

  • Use a non-stick pan for easier flipping.
  • Warm the tortillas a little before assembling to make them more pliable.
  • Don’t overstuff the quesadilla; it will make flipping difficult.
  • Cook on medium heat to allow the cheese to melt without burning the tortilla.
  • Experiment with added fillings like jalapenos, black beans, or corn.

How to Serve

Beef quesadillas are great as a quick meal or a party snack. Cut them into wedges and serve immediately for the best taste and texture. A side of salsa, sour cream, and guacamole elevates the whole experience.
