Why This Recipe Works

This strawberry fudge recipe stands out because it's incredibly easy to make and doesn't require any complicated techniques or equipment. All you need is a saucepan and a few basic ingredients to create a dessert that's both luxurious and comforting. The use of white chocolate gives the fudge a creamy texture that melts in your mouth, while the strawberry extract provides a fresh, fruity flavor that's not overpowering. It's the perfect balance of sweet and fruity, making it a great option for those who enjoy desserts that are not too sugary.

Another reason to love this recipe is its versatility. Whether you're a novice in the kitchen or an experienced cook, this fudge is foolproof and forgiving. It's also easy to customize; you can adjust the amount of strawberry flavor or add in other ingredients like nuts or other dried fruits for extra texture and flavor. This fudge also sets up nicely without the need for precise temperature control, making it a great recipe to make with kids or when you need a quick dessert for unexpected guests.

Ingredients

Sweetened Condensed Milk: This thick, sweet milk is used to add richness and body to the fudge. Substitute: Coconut condensed milk for a dairy-free option.

White Chocolate Chips: They provide a smooth and creamy base that complements the strawberry flavor. Substitute: Vegan white chocolate chips for a dairy-free version.

Strawberry Extract: Gives the fudge a vibrant strawberry flavor. Substitute: Pureed fresh strawberries or strawberry jam can be used, but might make the texture slightly less firm.

Freeze-Dried Strawberries: These add a concentrated burst of strawberry taste and a bit of texture. Substitute: Dried cranberries or raspberries for a different berry twist.

Butter: Helps to smooth out the chocolate and adds richness. Substitute: Coconut oil or vegan butter for a dairy-free fudge.

Tips

  • Use low heat when melting the chocolate to prevent it from burning.
  • Line your pan with parchment paper for easy removal of the fudge once it's set.
  • If using fresh strawberry puree, reduce the liquid content to keep the fudge firm.
  • Cool the fudge at room temperature before refrigerating to prevent condensation.
  • Cut the fudge into small squares as it is very rich and sweet.

How to Serve

Strawberry fudge is a delightful treat that can be enjoyed on its own or as part of a larger dessert spread. Its creamy texture and rich, fruity flavor make it a favorite during the holiday season or special occasions like Valentine’s Day.

  • Dessert Platter: Arrange pieces of strawberry fudge on a platter with other bite-sized treats such as chocolate truffles, mini cupcakes, and fresh strawberries for a delightful variety.
  • With Ice Cream: Serve a square of strawberry fudge alongside a scoop of vanilla ice cream for a decadent dessert.
  • Gift Boxes: Package the fudge in small gift boxes lined with parchment paper as thoughtful homemade gifts.
