Ingredients

Cream Cheese - Cream cheese is a mild, soft cheese that gives the cheesecake its signature creamy texture. If you're lactose intolerant, you can use lactose-free cream cheese as a substitute.

Sugar - For a healthier alternative, you can use stevia or erythritol, but make sure to check the conversion ratio as they're typically sweeter than sugar.

Eggs - eggs will be needed to bind the ingredients together. Eggs also help to set the cheesecake as it bakes. If you have dietary restrictions, you could use egg replacer or flax eggs.

Semi-Sweet Chocolate - chocolate will be used to create the chocolate swirls. The slight bitterness balances the sweetness of the cheesecake. If you prefer, you can substitute with dark chocolate or milk chocolate.

Graham Crackers - graham crackers will form the base of your cheesecake. Digestive biscuits can also be used if you can't find graham crackers.

Tips

  • Ensure all your ingredients, especially the cream cheese and eggs, are at room temperature before you start. This will result in a smoother batter.
  • Don't overmix your batter as it can lead to a denser cheesecake.
  • Make sure to cool your cheesecake gradually to prevent cracks - don't rush it by placing it directly into the fridge.
  • Use a hot knife (dip in warm water and dry) to cut the cheesecake. This will help in getting clean slices.
  • Add a pan of water to the oven while baking the cheesecake. This keeps the oven humid and prevents the top from drying out and cracking.

How to Serve

Cheesecake is a versatile dessert that can be served on many occasions. It's a fantastic choice for birthdays, holiday parties, or even as a weekend treat. The chocolate swirl adds a fancy touch to the cheesecake, making it seem like you put in more effort than you actually did.

  • Serve it plain to enjoy the rich flavors of cream cheese and chocolate.
  • Pair it with a cup of coffee. The bitterness of the coffee will perfectly balance the sweetness of the cheesecake.
  • You could also serve it with a side of whipped cream or a drizzle of fruit sauce (like strawberry or raspberry) for an extra layer of flavor.
