Your salary shouldn't be public knowledge; bragging about how much money you make is the height of distastefulness. Boasting about wealth signals to others that you have narcissistic and toxic qualities. No one wants to be around the jerk who never passes up an opportunity to talk about how much money they make!

No one wants to hear about the new car you just bought, especially if it's a high-end luxury vehicle. Bragging about your new car is the easiest way to signal to others that you're obsessed with your image. "A guy at work bragged about getting a BMW," reveals one man. Reading books is one of the best ways to enlighten yourself and improve your mind; don't let anyone else tell you otherwise! Keep your vacation photos and travel itineraries to yourself; even posting them to social media rubs many people the wrong way!

Boasting about getting away with a crime, regardless of how minor it is, is a strange thing to brag about. Let me make it clear: No one is impressed how you made record time during your commute by driving 30 miles over the speed limit. Instead, they are silently judging you for doing something so stupid.

Admitting you often work long hours for low pay for a terrible boss isn't anything to brag about. In the eyes of others, it makes you look weak, not strong. Although everybody's body is different and thus needs different amounts of sleep, bragging about how you don't need sleep isn't just weird, it raises red flags. Drinking too much is often the sign of a severe problem, and boasting about how drunk you get isn't impressive. It's pathetic. "There was this guy at work who used to go on about how drunk he gets on the weekends," recalls one woman. "I really don't get people who think that kind of talk impresses others. When I found out weeks later that the guy was married and had a kid, I just thought he was contemptible."

This kind of record-keeping is best left in college (and honestly shouldn't be a part of today's culture at all, if I'm being serious).
