These last holidays were for me a great opportunity to keep growing in my cooking path. Usually, we celebrate Christmas together: my wife’s parents cook a type of meat, my parents another one and the rest of us bring side dishes. But this time, I wanted to be the one bringing one of the meats.
I decided to choose a recipe I had not cooked before: pork chops. I put The Eyes of the Tiger on, tied an apron to my waist and I placed my instant pot on the table. It was the very first time I was cooking for so many people. I felt the extra pressure because it was for a very special occasion too. I was just hoping that nobody would repent from having let me cook for Christmas dinner.
Many mustard pork chops later, the dish that my parents in law prepared was still almost intact while mine was gone already. My recipe was a success and my desire to continue pursuing my culinary adventures are greater now than last year.
