Ingredients

  • cups all-purpose flour
  • ½ cup unsalted butter chilled and cubed
  • ¼ cup sugar
  • a pinch of salt
  • 2-3 tablespoon cold water
  • For Pastry Cream:
  • 2 cups milk
  • ½ cup sugar
  • 4 egg yolks
  • ¼ cup cornstarch
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • For Topping:
  • 2 cups mixed berries strawberries, blueberries, raspberries, blackberries
  • 2 tablespoon sugar for berries
  • ¼ cup apricot jam or honey for glazing

Instructions

  • In a bowl, combine flour, sugar, and salt. Cut in butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Add water and form into a dough. Wrap and chill for 1 hour.
