Remember those famous faces we used to see all over the media? From blockbuster movies to chart-topping hits, they were the talk of the town. But suddenly, they're not around as much. This list is all about those celebrities. We're digging into the 'where' and 'why' to uncover the stories behind their retreat from the limelight. Get ready for some surprising updates!

1. Ronda Rousey

"Ronda was just right for the period right before women's MMA really heated up," explains a fight enthusiast. "But she bought too much into her own hype — and when the women's division's talent caught up, she got destroyed."

Rousey's incredible UFC record came crashing down after she lost to Holly Holm in UFC 193. Since then, Rousey made an enthusiastic debut in WWE; however, one fan feels now "she's just going through the motions."

2. Kevin Spacey

The next contributor feels "Kevin Spacey, back when House of Cards was popular," was when the actor was at the peak of his powers. It all went downhill from there after allegations of sexual abuse surfaced. Strangely, following his cancellation, Spacey made a short video alluding to his court case — in full character as disgraced Democrat politician Frank Underwood.

3. James Franco

"James Franco vanished," someone asserts atop a new thread. His recent cameo in the Johnny Depp and Amber Heard court case didn't win him much favor.

Moreover, since Franco's awkward Oscars co-hosting performance with Anne Hathaway, and some other more serious sexual assault allegations, the actor has gone off-radar. "Even Seth Rogan dropped him and won't make any movies with him anymore," claims a different poster.

4. Ellen DeGeneres

"Ellen DeGeneres," suggests one member. "After being exposed as a bad person, she doesn't get talked about much as of today." Ellen has had a long run as a favorite TV talk show host. However, allegations of bullying and creating a toxic work environment have damaged her hitherto sunny persona.

5. Elon Musk

"Elon Musk used to be quite well-liked online," recalls a former fan. "Watching him squander the goodwill and become one of the most despised executives in modern history has been fascinating to watch."

I don't know about this choice. You can hardly say the world's richest and most famous man is washed up, though I agree he should tone it down sometimes.

6. Demi Lovato

"Demi Lovato was the second-most Googled person of 2018," posits one observer. "Seems much less popular now." It must be said that Lovato's sense of entitlement seems to grow with each year.

"She's also gone a bit crazy," one commenter confirms, "yelling at ice cream shops and going on about her alien encounters." Fame can do strange things to an underprepared human.

7. Taylor Lautner

Millennials, Gen-Xers, and Boomers alike will all remember the Twilight movie trilogy — no, I never read the books; I am not a teenage girl. Girls flocked to movie theaters to see the young actor's tanned physique grow more defined with each passing movie.

Nowadays, nobody hears much from Mr. Lautner. One fan says, "He married a woman named Taylor who took Taylor's name. So Taylor Lautner is married to Taylor Lautner." Good for Taylor — and Taylor.

8. Armie Hammer

The Lone Ranger star had a promising career ahead of him, with many sequels and other projects in the pipeline. However, after being accused of violent sexual assault by an ex-girlfriend, Hammer is no longer with his publicist or working on his planned projects. "And I really wanted a sequel to The Man from UNCLE," confesses a previous fan. It looks like they will have to wait for a recast.

9. 'D and D' from Game of Thrones

D.B. Weiss and David Benioff are the Game of Thrones creators. They are also responsible for the most disappointing final season in television history.

One fan says they are rightly forgotten now for the "greatest television show (ever) made that nobody wants to even look at ever again." Even Charles (Tywin Lannister) Dance notes how he would sign a petition to remake the final season again. I hope HBO is listening!

10. Shia Lebouf

If there were a case study on how to make oneself unpopular with peers, it would be Shia LaBeouf's ceaseless on-and-off-set shenanigans. Stephen Spielberg's nephew is a talented actor, but his reputation as a hell-raiser comes with many other accusations, including sexual abuse.

Moreover, LeBouef plagiarized writer Daniel Clowes's work, passing it off as his own, and was promptly sued for intellectual infringement. Following this episode, LeBouef announced he was "retiring from public life." Lord, have mercy.
