Ingredients
1
cup
brown sugar
½
cup
unsalted butter
½
cup
heavy cream
1
teaspoon
vanilla extract
¼
teaspoon
salt
Instructions
In a heavy-bottomed saucepan, combine brown sugar, butter, and heavy cream.
Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly until the sugar dissolves and the mixture comes to a boil.
Lower the heat and let the syrup simmer for about 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Remove from heat and stir in the vanilla extract and salt.
Allow the syrup to cool slightly before serving.
Notes
Use a heavy-bottomed saucepan to prevent the syrup from burning.
Keep stirring the syrup constantly to ensure even cooking and prevent clumping.
Let the syrup cool slightly before using it, as it thickens as it cools.
Store the syrup in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to two weeks.
Reheat the syrup gently in the microwave or on the stove before using if it becomes too thick.
