Quick and easy sautéed broccolini with garlic and lemon, a perfect side dish to complement any meal. Ready in just 15 minutes, it's healthy and flavorful.
Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
Add the minced garlic to the pan and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant, being careful not to burn it.
Add the broccolini to the skillet. Season with salt and pepper, and toss to coat in the oil and garlic.
Cover and cook for about 5 minutes, until the broccolini is bright green and tender but still crisp.
Uncover, and increase the heat to medium-high for 2-3 minutes to add a bit of color to the broccolini, stirring occasionally.
Remove from heat, squeeze the lemon juice over the top, and add red pepper flakes if using. Toss to combine.
Taste and adjust seasoning, then serve immediately.
Notes
• Trim the ends of the broccolini before cooking to ensure every bite is tender.
• Don't overcrowd the pan; cook in batches if necessary to ensure even sautéing.
• Keep the heat on medium to avoid burning the garlic and to cook the broccolini evenly.
• Add the lemon juice at the end of cooking to maintain its bright flavor.
• Taste and adjust seasoning right before serving to ensure the perfect balance of flavors.
