Ingredients
1
pound
ground beef
1
can black beans
drained
1
can tomato sauce
2
tablespoons
chili powder
1
chopped onion
Instructions
In a large pot, sauté the chopped onion until translucent.
Add the ground beef and cook until browned.
Add the chili powder and stir.
Pour in the tomato sauce and drained black beans.
Simmer on low heat for at least 30 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Taste and adjust seasoning as needed.
Notes
Brown the beef thoroughly to unlock its flavor.
Drain and rinse the black beans to remove excess salt and improve texture.
If you like a thicker chili, you can simmer it longer to reduce the liquid.
Feel free to add veggies like bell peppers or corn for more color and taste.
Chili tastes better the next day as the flavors meld, so it's great for meal prep.
