ground beef

shredded cheddar cheese

medium onion

10.5 ounces cream of mushroom soup
Instructions
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
Brown the ground beef in a pan and drain the fat.
In a separate bowl, mix the browned beef with the chopped onion.
Slice the potatoes thinly and microwave them for 3-4 minutes to precook.
In a casserole dish, layer half of the sliced potatoes.
Add the beef and onion mixture on top of the potatoes.
Pour half of the can of cream of mushroom soup over the beef.
Add the remaining potatoes as the next layer.
Pour the remaining cream of mushroom soup on top.
Sprinkle the shredded cheese evenly over the top.
Bake for 45 minutes or until the potatoes are tender and the cheese is melted.
(Optional) Broil for 2-3 minutes for a crispy top.
Serve hot and enjoy!
Notes
Brown the ground beef well for better flavor.
Precook the sliced potatoes for a few minutes in the microwave to speed up cooking time.
If you use low-fat cheese or meat, the casserole might be less creamy.
For a crispy top, broil the casserole for a couple of minutes after it's baked.
You can make this ahead and freeze it. Just bake it a little longer if you're cooking from frozen.
