pound
ground meat
beef, turkey, or plant-based
8
ounces
spaghetti
1
can
14 ounces tomato sauce
1
medium onion
chopped
2
cloves
garlic
minced
Instructions
In a large pot, boil water and add a pinch of salt. Add spaghetti and cook until al dente. Drain and set aside.
In another pan, brown the ground meat over medium heat. Drain excess fat.
Add chopped onion and minced garlic to the meat. Cook until the onion is soft.
Pour in the can of tomato sauce. Add salt and pepper to taste.
Lower the heat and let the sauce simmer for at least 20 minutes.
Mix the sauce with the cooked spaghetti.
Serve hot and enjoy!
Notes
Brown the Meat Well
- Let the meat get a nice brown color for better flavor.
Cook Pasta Al Dente
- Follow the package instructions, but aim for pasta that's firm to the bite.
Season Throughout
- Add salt and pepper at different stages to layer the flavors.
Use Quality Tomato Sauce
- A better sauce will give you a tastier result.
Let It Simmer
- The longer the sauce cooks, the richer it gets. At least 20 minutes is good.
