Ingredients
1
pound
white fish fillets
1
cup
Panko breadcrumbs
2
large eggs
1
cup
flour
Seasoning
salt, pepper, preferred spices
Oil for frying
Instructions
Cut the fish fillets into stick-like pieces.
In three separate bowls, place flour, beaten eggs, and breadcrumbs mixed with your seasonings.
Dredge each piece of fish in flour, then dip in the egg, and finally coat with breadcrumbs.
Heat oil in a pan over medium heat.
Fry the fish sticks until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes each side.
Place them on a paper towel to drain excess oil. Serve warm.
Notes
To ensure the fish cooks evenly, try to cut the fillets into similar-sized pieces.
When coating the fish, use one hand for dry ingredients (flour and breadcrumbs) and the other for wet (egg) to avoid a messy process.
Don't overcrowd the pan while frying the fish sticks; this can lower the oil temperature and make them less crispy.
To keep the fish sticks warm while cooking in batches, you can place them in an oven preheated to a low temperature.
For healthier fish sticks, consider baking or air frying instead of deep frying.
