Instructions
Boil 4 cups of water in a pot, then add the tapioca pearls. Cook for 15 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Drain the pearls and rinse with cold water.
In a saucepan, combine the brown sugar and ½ cup of water. Cook over medium heat, stirring until the sugar dissolves.
Add the cooked tapioca pearls to the brown sugar syrup and let them soak for 10 minutes.
Fill glasses with ice and pour milk over the ice, leaving space for the boba and syrup.
Spoon the boba and syrup into each glass, and serve with a thick straw.
Notes
Don't overcook the tapioca pearls, or they will become mushy.
Stir the pearls occasionally while cooking to prevent them from sticking together.
Adjust the sweetness by using more or less brown sugar.
Store leftover tapioca pearls in a simple syrup to keep them soft and chewy.
Experiment with different types of milk for unique flavors.
