Preheat your oven to its highest setting, around 475°F (245°C) or more. Place a pizza stone or an inverted baking sheet in the oven to heat.
On a floured surface, roll out the pizza dough to your desired thickness. Transfer it to a piece of parchment paper.
Brush the dough lightly with olive oil, then evenly distribute the minced garlic over the top. Arrange the tomato slices on the dough, and season with salt and pepper.
Slide the pizza (with the parchment paper) onto the preheated pizza stone or baking sheet. Bake for about 15 minutes, or until the crust is golden and crispy.
Remove from the oven and immediately top with fresh basil leaves. If desired, sprinkle with red pepper flakes for a bit of heat.
Let cool for a few minutes, slice, and serve.
Notes
Preheat your oven as hot as it will go for a crispy crust.
• Thinly slice the tomatoes to ensure they cook evenly and don't make the dough soggy.
• Brush the dough with olive oil before adding the toppings to prevent it from becoming soggy.
• Add the basil after baking to preserve its fresh flavor and vibrant color.
• Use a pizza stone or preheated baking sheet for the best crust texture.
