Ingredients
Chill the puff pastry until just before use to keep it flaky.
Dice the apples finely for even cooking and easy folding.
Seal the edges of the turnovers well to prevent filling from leaking.
Brush with egg wash for a golden
shiny crust.
Let them cool slightly before serving to avoid burns.
Instructions
Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
Melt butter in a pan, add apples, sugar, cinnamon, and salt. Cook until apples are just soft.
Stir in flour to thicken the mixture, then remove from heat and let cool.
Roll out the puff pastry and cut into squares.
Place apple mixture on one half of each square.
Fold the pastry over the filling, press edges to seal, and make small cuts on top.
Beat the egg and brush over the turnovers.
Bake for 20 minutes or until golden brown.
Allow to cool before serving.
