Instructions
Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
In a large bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
Cut in the butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
Gently fold in blueberries.
In another bowl, mix cream, egg, and vanilla.
Add wet ingredients to dry, mixing until just combined.
Turn dough onto a floured surface and shape into a circle.
Cut into 8 wedges and place on a baking sheet.
Brush with egg or milk wash and sprinkle with sugar (if using).
Bake for 18-20 minutes or until golden brown.
Notes
Keep ingredients cold for flakier scones.
Don't overmix the dough to keep it tender.
Use fresh blueberries for better flavor.
