Instructions
Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat. Season the chicken with salt and pepper.
Add the chicken to the skillet, skin side down, and cook until browned. Flip and cook the other side. Remove chicken and set aside.
In the same skillet, add the chopped shallots and minced garlic. Sauté until soft and translucent.
Stir in the cream, lemon zest, and lemon juice. Bring to a simmer.
Place the browned chicken back into the skillet, making sure it's covered with the sauce.
Transfer the skillet to the preheated oven and bake for 25-30 minutes or until the chicken is cooked through.
Remove from the oven and let it sit for a few minutes. Garnish with fresh herbs, if desired.
