Ingredients
5-6
medium-sized apples
peeled, cored, and thinly sliced
2
pie crusts
1
teaspoon
cinnamon
1
tablespoon
lemon juice
Stevia or Erythritol
to taste
Instructions
Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).
In a large bowl, combine sliced apples, cinnamon, lemon juice, and Stevia or Erythritol.
Roll out one pie crust and fit it into a 9-inch pie pan.
Pour the apple mixture into the crust.
Roll out the second crust and place it over the apples. Trim any excess dough and crimp the edges.
Make small slits in the top crust to allow steam to escape.
(Optional) Brush the top with milk or an egg wash.
Bake for 45-50 minutes or until the crust is golden brown.
Let the pie cool completely before serving.
Notes
Choose tart apples like Granny Smith for a more authentic pie flavor.
Always pre-bake the pie crust slightly to prevent a soggy bottom.
Taste your apple filling before baking to adjust sweetness as desired.
Allow the pie to cool completely before serving to help the filling set.
Brushing the top crust with a little milk or egg wash can give it a golden finish.
