Ingredients
2
slices
of bread
2
tablespoons
of butter
or substitute
2
slices
of cheese
or your preferred amount
Pinch
of salt
Pinch
of pepper
Instructions
Butter one side of each slice of bread.
Place cheese between the non-buttered sides of the bread slices.
On a microwave-safe plate, put the sandwich with the buttered side facing down.
Microwave on high for about 1 minute. Check the sandwich and continue in 20-second intervals until the cheese is melted and bread is a bit crispy.
Sprinkle a pinch of salt and pepper, then cut in half and serve hot.
Notes
Use day-old bread; it crisps up better.
For even butter distribution, melt the butter and brush it on the bread.
The microwave may not give the same crispiness as a stovetop, but it's quick.
For more flavor, add garlic powder or other herbs to the butter.
Always keep an eye on it to avoid over-microwaving.
