grams
ground lamb
1
medium onion
finely chopped
3
cloves
garlic
minced
400
grams
canned tomatoes
1
cup
red wine
Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
Heat a large pan over medium heat. Add the ground lamb, season with salt and pepper, and cook until browned. Use a wooden spoon to break up the meat.
Add the chopped onion and garlic to the pan, stirring until the onion is translucent.
Add the canned tomatoes and red wine to the pan. Reduce the heat to low, and let the sauce simmer for at least an hour.
Adjust the seasoning as needed. Serve the bolognese sauce over your choice of pasta, polenta, or vegetables.
Notes
For a finer sauce, you can pulse the onions and garlic in a food processor before cooking.
Be patient and cook the sauce on low heat to let the flavors develop.
Don't forget to season your lamb well with salt and pepper before cooking.
Use a wooden spoon to break up the ground lamb as it cooks for a more consistent texture.
If you find the sauce is too thick, you can thin it with a bit of pasta water.
