Instructions
In a bowl, combine the drained tuna, mayonnaise, celery, and onion.
Butter one side of each bread slice.
On the non-buttered side of four slices, distribute the tuna mixture evenly.
Place a slice of cheese over the tuna mixture on each slice.
Top with the remaining bread slices, buttered side up.
Grill the sandwiches on a skillet over medium heat until golden brown on each side and the cheese has melted.
Notes
Drain the canned tuna thoroughly to prevent the sandwich from becoming soggy.
When grilling your sandwich, use a medium heat. This allows the cheese to melt fully without burning the bread.
The mayo-to-tuna ratio is crucial for the right texture. Don't make it too dry or too wet; aim for a creamy, cohesive mixture.
Customize your tuna mix with spices like black pepper, garlic powder, or a splash of lemon for extra flavor.
For a healthier option, consider using whole grain bread, low-fat cheese, and Greek yogurt in place of mayonnaise.
