Ingredients
1
kg
boneless lamb
cut into bite-sized pieces
4
tablespoons
tikka masala paste
500
grams
fresh tomatoes
chopped
1
cup
plain yogurt
2
large onions
finely chopped
Instructions
Marinate the lamb in the yogurt and tikka masala paste for at least 2 hours, or overnight if possible.
In a large pan, fry the onions in a little oil until golden brown.
Add the marinated lamb to the pan and cook until browned on all sides.
Add the tomatoes to the pan and simmer for about 20 minutes, or until the tomatoes are fully cooked and the sauce has thickened.
Taste and adjust the seasoning, then serve hot.
Notes
Marinating the lamb in yogurt and tikka masala paste overnight will make the meat more flavorful and tender.
Always cook the onions until they're golden brown, as this will add a depth of flavor to the dish.
Don't skip simmering the dish. This step is crucial to allow all the flavors to meld together.
If the sauce is too thin, you can thicken it by adding a cornstarch slurry (a mix of cornstarch and water).
Always taste and adjust the seasoning before serving. You might need to add more salt, depending on your preference.
