Ingredients

  • 300 g penne pasta

  • 1 tablespoon tomato paste
  • ยฝ teaspoon sugar optional
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • ยผ cup pasta cooking water
  • Fresh basil or parsley
  • Grated parmesan cheese optional

Instructions

  • Boil pasta in salted water until soft. Save ยผ cup pasta water.
  • Heat olive oil in pan. Cook garlic gently until light golden.
