Why This Recipe Works

This recipe works because it transforms basic mashed potatoes into a more flavorful and filling dish. Baking the casserole allows the flavors to blend perfectly, and the melted cheese on top makes it extra delicious. It's an easy way to elevate a traditional side dish into something special.

Another reason this recipe is so good is its flexibility. You can swap ingredients based on what you haveโ€”using Greek yogurt instead of sour cream, adding different cheeses, or mixing in herbs for extra flavor. Itโ€™s also a great make-ahead dish that reheats well, making meal prep easier. Whether for a weeknight dinner or a festive holiday meal, mashed potato casserole is always a hit!
