Instant Pot Mutton Pilaf

This mutton pilaf uses wonderful festive rice which are so delightful. It can also be served with any sort of curry.

Instant Pot Mutton Pilaf

Ingredients

  • 1 cup basmati rice rinsed
  • 1 lb lamb mutton bone-in
  • 1 tbsp oil
  • 1 cup onion chopped
  • 1 3/4 cups water
  • 1 green chili minced
  • 4 garlic cloves minced
  • 2 bay leaves
  • 6 curry leaves
  • 1/2 tsp mustard seeds
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • 1 green cardamom ground
  • 1/2 tsp cloves ground
  • 1/4 tsp turmeric powder
  • 1 tsp salt

Instructions

  1. Turn on the instant pot and select sauté.

  2. Add oil and whole spices and then sauté for 1 minute.

  3. Add garlic, onion, green chili and sauté for 3 minutes.

  4. Add spices and mutton and sauté for 4 minutes.

  5. Further add water and rice.

  6. Close the lid of the instant pot.

  7. Set instant pot to Rice at low pressure and cook for 12 minutes. Release the pressure quickly through steam vent.

  8. Fluff the rice and dish out.
