Instant Pot Honey Glazed Chicken


This is a light yet tempting meal that everyone will enjoy. Chicken coated with honey gives amazing taste.

If you like this recipe, you can use the chicken breast to make orange chicken or butter chicken and diversify your dinner.

  • 4 large boneless skinless chicken breasts diced
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 3 tbsp water divided
  • 1 tbsp rice wine vinegar
  • 1 tsp sesame oil
  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 3 tbsp corn starch
  • 2 green onions chopped
  • Turn on the instant pot.
  • Add all ingredients except cornstarch, 3 tablespoons water and honey.
  • Set the instant pot to “Manual” at high pressure for 3 minutes, release the pressure quickly through steam vent.
  • Add honey and stir well.
  • Add cornstarch and 3 tablespoons water divided.
  • Select sauté and let it simmer till it becomes thick.
  • Serve hot and sprinkle green onions on them.

  1. How do I use this recipe with only 2 chicken breast and still have enough liquid? I thought 6 quart instant pot needed a minimum of 1 cup of water. Am I right in assuming juice from 4 breast would create enough liquid to bring it up to 1 cup?

    1. Yes, that’s correct. 1 cup is the recommendation, but sometimes you can get away with using a little less when liquid is released from meat and vegetables in the recipe. It would be wise to add a little extra liquid (about 1/4 cup) if you’re only cooking 2 chicken breasts, just in case 🙂
