Instant Pot New York Strip Steak is a delicious and easy-to-make recipe that brings the flavor and tenderness of a steakhouse to your own kitchen.

New York Strip Steak, also known as top loin steak or Kansas City strip, is a popular cut of beef that is tender, juicy, and flavorful.

This is another version of the Instant Pot steak recipe, so you can diversify your family table using these two options.

Pro Tips

  • Choose a good quality steak: The quality of your steak can make a big difference in the final result. Look for a steak with good marbling and a bright red color.
  • Let the steak come to room temperature: Take the steak out of the refrigerator about an hour before cooking to allow it to come to room temperature. This will help it cook more evenly.
  • Season well: Don't be shy with your seasonings. Generously season your steak with salt, pepper, and any other desired seasonings.

  1. This looks so delish! Although I would like mine to be medium well. How long do you recommend I cook for on high pressure? I want it just slightly pink.

  2. This looks amazing! I would like for mine to be medium well though. How long do you recommend I pressure cook it? As I still want the tenderness lol.

  3. The picture shows a medium steak - which is what I want. Will it be medium after the natural release is done?

  4. Outside of being so simple that even I look good, this is just spiffy, tasty and good lookin' - served with steamed & buttered cauliflower made the perfect meal for us. Thanks much, I've got a lot more on your that entice me.

    1. The name of recipe is Herbed Garlic Butter Steak. Butter and herbs are used in the Cooking process. No extra herb butter is required in this dish.

        1. The liquid in this recipe is 1/2 cup of beef broth. It is added to the pot in the 3rd step of the recipe. You can drain the excess liquid at the end or use it as a sauce or fortified beef broth.

      1. You sauté with the lid off, since you want the steak to brown nicely in this step. If the lid is on, it would steam and wouldn't brown as well.
