Instant Pot Braised Beef Brisket

Beef brisket is comfortably outshined with an aromatic bath of hoisin sauce, fish sauce, hot sauce and sesame oil alongside the ginger and garlic. This braised brisket will be great if served with mashed potatoes. Just like the Instant Pot London Broil, you can save time by making the whole amount at once, and yet get a wonderful taste!

  • 1 tbsp sesame oil
  • 1 small onion sliced
  • 4 garlic cloves minced
  • 1 tbsp fresh ginger minced
  • 1 (2½-pound) lb beef brisket
  • 1/2 cup hoisin sauce
  • 3 tbsp fish sauce
  • 2 tbsp hot sauce
  • 1/4 cup water
  • Salt and ground black pepper as required
  • Add the oil in the Instant Pot and select “Sauté”. Now, add the onion and cook for about 1-2 minutes. 
  • Add the ginger and garlic and cook for about 2 minutes. 
  • Select “Cancel” and stir in the remaining ingredients.
  • Secure the lid and turn to “Seal” position.
  • Cook on “Manual” with “High Pressure” for about 60 minutes. 
  • Press “Cancel” and allow a natural release for about 10 minutes and then, do a quick release.
  • Carefully, remove the lid and place the brisket onto a cutting board for about 5-10 minutes.
  • Select “Sauté” and cook for about 10 minutes or until desired thickness of cooking sauce.
  • Cut the brisket into thin pieces against the grain.
  • Serve the brisket slices with alongside the sauce.
