Recipe Ingredients

Instant Pot Beef and Noodles ingredients

Olive oil - You can also use coconut oil or avocado oil as well. Vegetable oil would work, but it's not my top pick.

Chuck roast - This is the best cut of beef for this simple noodle recipe.

Onion soup mix - Don't skimp! This is a must for flavor.

Water - Helps to thin out the ingredients a bit.

Beef broth - You could also use bone broth for an extra kick of health.

Cream of mushroom soup - Adds flavor and texture. You can omit the cream of mushroom soup if you want. In its place, add more sour cream or cream cheese

Egg pasta - This is a great choice for the pasta as it's larger in size and holds its shape well.

Sour cream - Adds richness and creaminess.

Variations

Change up the meat - Chuck rust is the best, but you can also add ground beef, ground chicken, or ground turkey as well.

Use different noodles - Elbow macaroni would also be a great option. Spaghetti noodles would be a fun twist, too.

Recipe Notes

  • Be sure to cut up the chuck roast into bite-sized pieces. If they're too big, they're hard to chew and make a weird texture. If they're too small, they may cook too quickly and become tough.
  • You can omit the cream of mushroom soup if you want. In its place, add more sour cream or cream cheese.

How to serve

Filling your bowl is amazing, but don't forget the sides. I recommend pairing this noodle recipe with mashed potatoes or some steamed vegetables.

You can also add some baked bread or a nice side salad as well.

  1. Great Question Jessica. I was thinking the same thing. Looking at all the liquid in the Insta Pot when the noodles are dumped in, I would think you would have to turn the Insta Pot on, without the lid, after dumping the noodles in and boil the liquid mixture until the noodles are tender. Then put the sour cream in and stir till thickened.
