Elite Platinum vs Cosori Electric Pressure Cookers

This article will be comparing two brands of electric pressure cookers. One that offers several option that vary quite a bit, and another that has only two options, with nearly identical features.

The two brands for comparison are Elite Platinum and Cosori. First, I’ll go over the choices and features of each brand, followed by reasons to choose each brand. I’ll finish with helping you decide which of the presented options may be best for you.

Overview of the Elite Platinum electric pressure cookers

Elite Platinum offers five different pressure cookers;

  • 9 preset functions: keep warm, slow cook, soup and stew, beans and grains, brown and sauté, desserts, steam, meat and chicken, and rice.
  • Non-stick inner pot.

  • Stainless steel pot in black version, or non-stick pot with brick red version.

  • 19 preset functions: reheat, brown rice, white rice, wild rice and grains, vegetables and fish, desserts, potatoes, pork and ribs, chicken, beans, stew, beef, soup, and browning and keep warm.
  • Up to 99 minutes of pressure cooking time.
  • Stainless steel pot in black color with non-stick pot in all other colors.
  • 29 hour delay timer.

  • 9 preset functions: rice, soup and stew, meat and chicken, slow cook, beans, fish and vegetables, deserts, and browning and keep warm.
  • Non-stick inner pot.
  • Up to 60 minutes of pressure cooking time.


  • 10 Quart
  • Comes in black and turquoise.
  • 8 preset functions: rice, potatoes and yams, meat and chicken, pork, fish and vegetables, beans and grains, soup and stews, and desserts.
  • Non-Stick inner pot.
  • Up to 90 minutes of pressure cooking time.

The differences in Elite Platinum electric pressure cookers are mainly the number of presets and the color options. They do share some common features as well.

All Elite Platinum electric pressure cookers have a 24 hour delay timer, with the exception of the EPC-808, which has a 29 hour delay timer.

They also have a 12 hour automatic keep warm function, that activates at the end of the cooking process.

Each of the Elite Platinum electric pressure cookers also has 8 different built-in safety features. If any of these features are not functioning properly, the cooker will not pressurize.

One not so common feature that Elite Platinum included with all of its pressure cookers, is an automatic restart function. If power is loss during the cooking process, when power is restored the pressure cooker will automatically resume cooking.

Overview of Cosori electric pressure cookers

Cosori makes two different electric pressure cookers. They have a Cosori 7-in-1 Multifuntional Pressure Cookermini 2 quart option and a 6 quart option.

There is one key difference between the two. The mini pressure cooker has a non-stick inner pot, while the 6 quart pot has a stainless steel inner pot.

Other than size and the material of the cook pot, the two pressure cookers are essentially the same.

They have seven main functions: pressure cooker, slow cooker, rice cooker, sauté, yogurt maker, steamer and warmer.

Cosori also manufactures their pressure cookers with nine safety mechanisms to prevent accidents related to pressure.

They also have 13 preset programs: rice, yogurt, soup and congee, multigrain, slow cook, bake, steam, sauté, canning, poultry, beans, meat and stew, and keep warm. These presets and any manual programmed recipes are monitored and adjusted by a microprocessor.

Although Cosori pressure cookers have a canning preset, this and all other electric pressure cookers should not be used for canning.

Safe canning methods have not been established for electric pressure cookers, only for stovetop pressure cookers.

Using an electric pressure cooker for canning may not kill dangerous bacteria that can cause serious health risks, including paralysis and death.

Reasons to choose Elite Platinum over Cosori

  1. Elite Platinum has at least to color choices for all of its pressure cookers, some having many different options.
  2. EPC-808 has 19 preset functions, more than the Cosori which has only 13.
  3. Elite Platinum cookers have an automatic restart function.
  4. Elite Platinum offers larger capacity pressure cookers including an 8 quart and 10 quart capacity.

Reasons to choose Cosori over Elite Platinum

  1. Cosori pressure cookers come with a stainless steel pot, while few of the Elite Platinum pressure cookers come with stainless steel pots.
  2. Cosori pressure cookers can be used to make yogurt, while Elite Platinum cookers cannot.
  3. Cosori pressure cookers have 9 built-in safety features while Elite Platinum has 8 safety features.
  4. Cosori pressure cookers have a microprocessor to monitor and make adjustments during the cooking process.
  5. Cosori cookers include an extra gasket for the lid. This piece is one of the most frequently replaced parts of an electric pressure cooker.

Which pressure cooker should you choose?

With all of the options presented in this article, deciding which one of these to get may be a confusing process. However, there are a few ways to easily narrow down your options.

If you want to make yogurt, you can eliminate the Elite Platinum pressure cookers all together. The remaining choice will between the mini size, which can cook for just a few people, or the larger 6 quart size that can cook larger meals.

If being able to make yogurt is not a deal breaker for you, then you will want to go with one of the Elite Platinum pressure cookers. If you don’t have a definite preference for size, then the EPC-808 is an excellent choice.

The EPC-808 comes in a variety of colors, so finding one to match your style will not be a problem. It also has more preset functions and a longer delay timer, than any of the other pressure cookers presented.

The bottom line is if you prefer a pressure cooker that affords you the most options in cooking, including making yogurt, go with the Cosori. You will also find this pressure cooker to be a quality built and safe product.

If the idea of having a unique looking pressure cooker that you can easily cook a variety of meals with, using simple preset options, go with the Elite Platinum.
