There are just specific offensive comments and behaviors that people portray that get on one's nerves. True. This is subjective, and everyone has to deal with their pet peeves. However, there are top things many people have repeatedly pointed out and can't believe they still have to deal with. Here are the top 10.

1. Invasive Questions About Our Personal Lives

Many people express frustration with others asking invasive questions about their personal lives, such as their income, relationship status, or reproductive plans.

A contributor shares, "I hate when people ask me why I don't have kids yet or when I'm going to have them. It's none of their business and can be hurtful to people struggling with infertility."

2. Being Asked To "Just Get Over" Mental Health Struggles

Mental health struggles, such as anxiety and depression, are serious illnesses. You can't just ask people to "get over them."

It costs a lot to get through this phase, and it's high time people validate other people's mental health issues. It is a struggle, and these people need all the love and support they can get instead of insensitive lines.

3. Being Judged For Our Tattoos And Piercings

Just as no one enjoys being judged for their skin tone, no one wants another person judging them for the tattoos or piercings on their body. These things do not define who they are underneath.

A healthcare worker shares his story of working in the field and having several tattoos. "I've had patients ask to be seen by someone else because they don't want to be treated by someone with tattoos. It's frustrating because tattoos don't affect my ability to do my job," they say.

4. Being Objectified

Many people, particularly women, deal with being objectified daily. This can range from catcalling on the street to inappropriate comments in the workplace. It's exhausting, and people want to be seen as more than objects or symbols.

5. Racism

Unfortunately, racism and prejudice are still prevalent in our society, and people of color often have to deal with offensive comments and actions from others.

Sharing her story, a Black woman says she is tired of people assuming she is uneducated or dangerous because of her skin color. "It's not fair that I have to prove myself just because of my race constantly," she says.

6. Hearing "You Don't Look Disabled."

People with disabilities often deal with the harmful stereotype that they must "look" disabled to be considered valid.

Telling disabled people they don't look that way can be incredibly hurtful, as it invalidates their experiences and struggles. One may not use a wheelchair or have visible signs of my disability, but their struggle is just as real.

7. Being Judged For Our Lifestyle Or Choices

Folks often have to deal with being judged or criticized for their lifestyle or choices, whether it's their career, hobbies, or personal beliefs. Like Bon Jovi, it's your life. Everyone should be free to live how they want and make their own decisions.

8. Being Body-Shamed

Body shaming is a form of bullying and can seriously affect a person's mental health. When people constantly tell you how you should look or what's wrong with your face or body, it can tear even the strongest person up. "Little" negative comments about a person's body can ruin their self-esteem.

9. Cultural Appropriation

Taking elements of one culture without due process disrespects the original culture. For instance, one person is frustrated seeing people dress up in Native American headdresses for Halloween and other events. "It's not something to be taken lightly, and it's disrespectful to our ancestors and traditions."

10. Being Constantly Interrupted

It isn't very respectful when someone else keeps interrupting your speech. This includes people who talk over you constantly and finish your sentences for you. Let people make their contributions when they wish to.

These are just a few of the offensive things that people have to deal with regularly. It's important to remember that everyone has different experiences and sensitivities.

We should all strive to create a kinder and more inclusive world where people can feel safe and accepted for who they are.
