I’ve cooked all the recipes on this list at least once. Most of them I've cooked many times and some are dinner time staples in my house.

All of these Instant Pot recipes are suitable for any occasion. Whether you’re cooking for one, the kids, date night or game day, meal prepping or catering for a big family celebration, these recipes are sure to be a super quick fix and a definite crowd-pleaser.

Instant Pot Chicken Burrito Bowl

I got an Instant Pot for Christmas and I'm afraid to open the box.

First of all, you are not alone. According to our research, almost 70% of the users were afraid of the Instant Pot before their first usage in some regard.

I've been there too - don't worry, I'm here to help you 🙂 First of all - What Is an Instant Pot anyway?

An Instant Pot is a brand of electric pressure cooker or multi-cooker. It has multiple functions that allow you to prepare a wide range of recipes and meals.

It works at extremely high heat and forms a tight seal when cooking. This creates immense pressure inside the pot and enables the food within to cook at a much quicker rate than regular stovetop cooking.

Instant Pots perform best when preparing “longer cooking” items such as rice, legumes, and thick cuts of meat. All the same, they can cook just about anything: yogurt, oatmeal, cakes, stews, and more!

The Instant Pot acts as a slow cooker, rice cooker and pressure cooker, and can also transform into an air fryer if you have the right accessory. You can use them to fry, sauté, steam, and sterilize.

If you are into a special diet, the Instant Pot is super useful, since you can make steamed vegetables, perfectly tender chicken breast, oil-free jasmine rice and many more healthy Instant Pot recipes.

Now that you know the Instant Pot much better, you can open the box, do the Instant Pot water test and check these easy Instant Pot recipes I made especially for you.

How do I use my Instant Pot?

If you are a beginner, you probably got confused with all the buttons on the Instant Pot. It looks so intimidating and you think that if you press the wrong button, you will ruing your special dinner. Well, I have a great tip for you:

Forget about all the buttons and focus only on the most used ones: Pressure Cook, Cancel, Saute and + - .  That's all :]

Some models have a "manual" button instead of "pressure cook". They are exactly the same.

After a while, you may want to use the slow cooker setting or change the pressure level.

But for now, focus only on the buttons above. It's enough to make 99% of the best Instant Pot recipes on Corrie Cooks.

Can I use frozen meat for these Instant Pot recipes?

Yes, you can! Cooking frozen meat in your Instant Pot is just as simple as cooking fresh meat. In many of my Instant Pot beef recipes I'm using a frozen meat.

To do so, you just need to add a few more minutes of cooking time to the original recipe. For example, it takes 25 minutes to cook a cornish hen. To cook a frozen Cornish hen, add on an extra 5 minutes for a total cook time of 30 minutes. In fact, one of the most popular Instant Pot chicken recipes on Corrie Cooks, is the Instant Pot Frozen Chicken.

What Should You Not Cook in an Instant Pot?

Although Instant Pot pressure cookers are fantastically versatile and allow you to cook so many different meals and recipes, there are a few recipes that you should avoid cooking.

Crispy food
Crunchy snake is not something you’re going to achieve with your Instant Pot. Recipes like fried chicken or fries aren’t going to give you the satisfying crunch you’re looking for if you use Instant Pot.

If you purchase an Instant Pot air fryer accessory, you can get that gorgeous crispy coating in an instant, without using as much oil.  The most popular products for frying food using your pot are Mealthy CrispLid and Instant Pot Air Fryer Lid.

If you do have one, we have made 30 Instant Pot Air Fryer recipes especially for you 🙂

Alternatively, if you’re cooking an Instant Pot chicken recipe like a whole chicken (yes, it's possible), you can put it under the broiler once it’s done pressure cooking to give the skin a quick crisp.

Instant Pot Crispy Chicken Wings

Dairy-based meals
Also not always the best idea. As Instant Pot cooks under such high heat and pressure, dairy products like milk and sour cream may curdle, whether you use the pressure cook or slow cook setting.

So what should you do? Just add dairy ingredients to your Instant Pot recipes after the cooking time is up.  You can also make specially designed Instant Pot dairy recipes you can find on Corrie Cooks, like Instant Pot yogurt, Instant Pot mac and cheese or Instant Pot cheesecake.

Steaks and burgers
Yes, it's possible to make Instant Pot beef steak or Instant Pot pork chops, but to be honest the grilled version is slightly better. Don't tell anyone, but sometime I do make burgers in my Instant Pot in order to save time...

Can I use other pressure cookers to make these recipes?

Yes you can! These easy Instant Pot recipes are suitable for any pressure cooker out there including Ninja Foodi, Crock-pot, Mealthy MultiPot and Power Pressure Cooker XL.

I make most of the recipes in my Instant Pot Duo 6-quart, so if your Pot size is different, you may need to make small adjustments to get a perfect result.
